THE BLESSING EXCHANGE
Folks Listen We Are To Be Blessed Just Like Faithful Abram. (Genesis 17 - paraphrase) Our God made an covenant with Abram, and said to Him, I (God) will multiply thee exceedingly. God went on to say, Your name shall no more be called Abram, but Your name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made You. And I will establish My covenant between Me and You and Your seed after You for an Everlasting Covenant.
LISTEN: Please read this for yourself. (Genesis 14 - paraphrase) There was a war between the kings, an Abrams nephew Lot and all he had was taken captured. When Abram heard this , he armed his trained servants and Abram and his army pursued them and won. Abram returned from battle with all that was taken and his nephew Lot and all he had, and the spoil or the goods of the enemies that he went to battle with (he cleaned up). The priest of the most high God, king of Salem, Melchizedek, went out to meet Abram after his return from the slaughter. He was joyful that the most high God had delivered the enemies into the hands of Abram, and Melchizedek blessed Abram. Abram because he was grateful that the most high God was with him in battle, and because the king of Salem, Melchizedek, had bless him, Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth (10%) of all the spoil or goods he had taken.
Can you see God had blessed Abram (Abraham), which means empowered him to prosper or to get results. Now! remember in (Genesis 17 - paraphrase) God said to Abram I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you, for an Everlasting Covenant, which means that Covenant EXIST Today. Please understand this and receive this: ''IF'' You are a child of God You are to be blessed just like Abraham. The bible tells us we are the seed (descendants) of Abraham. (Galatians 3 - paraphrase) says Abrahams blessings are ours, it's a promise or a covenant from God to Abraham, to those of us who are believers.
Looks like Abraham gave a tenth (10%) of all his increase because he LOVED GOD, he was grateful for his provisions and the blessings upon him. The Tithe Is A Love Issue, we bring the tithe because we love God. This act on Abrahams part to give a tenth (10%) was not a law or a commandment , it was an act of love. This was Tithing under the Abrahamic Convenant.
